Archivist Associate Patricia Cecil on Humanities Kansas' Humanities Hotline for June

Thursday, June 3, 2021

Humanities Kansas provides a Humanities Hotline, updated every month with new stories the public can acess for free.

For the month of June 2021, Archivist Assoicate Patricia Cecil shares information on Black churches in Lawrence. The scholarship for this micro-presentation is inspired by the Religion in Kansas Project's current Faith in the Free State podcast. The podcast explores how Black churches in Northeast Kansas have adapted, coped, and transformed with recent pandemic conditions. This podcast is in production now, and it is anticipated that first episodes lwill be released to the public in late summer of 2021. The podcast project is generously supported by a Humanities Kansas Humanities for All Grant.

Call 1-888-416-2018 to access the Humanities Hotline and listen to the presentation. At the end of June, the presentation will move to the Kansas Stories page of Humanities Kansas' website where it can continue to be heard by the public.
