Oct. 14: Interactive talk with alumna Rachel Myslivy, coordinator for the Double Up Food Bucks program for Kansas

Thursday, October 6, 2016

Please join us for an interactive discussion with Rachel Myslivy (Religious Studies & Environmental Studies alumna) next Friday, October 14 from 2-3pm in 256 Snow Hall.

Rachel is currently the coordinator for the Double Up Food Bucks program for Kansas. The Double Up Food Bucks program doubles the value of federal nutrition (SNAP or food stamps) benefits spent at participating markets and grocery stores, helping people bring home more healthy fruits and vegetables while supporting local farmers. She will discuss her current work and also the relationship between the two academic fields she studied at KU: Religious Studies & Environmental Studies. Professor Molly Zahn will serve as the discussion moderator.
