REL 145 Class Trip
Professor Robert’s class REL145 Jailbirds and Jayhawks: Abolition in Bleeding Kansas, partnered with the Watkins History Muesum and award winning scholar Holly Jackson (University of Massachusetts) to engage in anthropological and sociohistorical approaches to learn about KU’s Jayhawk connections to abolition in Bleeding Kansas.
Dr. Will Haynes of the Watkins Museum led students on a tour of Lawrence with stops at the Miller House (believed to be a stop on the Underground Railroad), Grover Barn, and Pioneer Cemetery.
